About Susan Taylor

Susan is part of the team at Just Money Advisors, a financial firm that specializes in socially responsible and community investing. Susan is married to her business partner, Andy Loving, with whom she shares parenting of two teenagers.

Susan also writes about issues of money and spirituality.  She recently wrote the study guide to the DVD presentation of "From Mammon to Manna:  Sabbath Economics and Community Investing," a DVD presentation by SEC members Ched Myers and Andy Loving.  Other recent publications are available on the resources page of the Just Money Advisors web site, www.justmoneyadvisors.com.  She has worked with several groups teaching children and young people about issues of money and faith.

Susan serves on the board of directors of Faith & Money Network (until recently known as Ministry of Money), and is an involved member of Jeff St. Baptist Community at Liberty in Louisville, KY.

Susan's exploration of the interrelationship between faith and money has been shaped by: a long and deep fascination with the Shakers, who modeled the commitment to live out their faith in every aspect of their lives; a Ph.D. in economics earned at the University of Maryland; research of labor markets and income inequality; work as an economist for a multinational corporate bank; years of conversations with and observations of people as they make financial choices; participation in ministries of activist churches; choices to work with grassroots groups of people trying to work across race and class lines for the well-being of their communities; and, crucially, motherhood.
