About Jubilee Economic Ministries

Jubilee Economics Ministries was born in 1999 after a group read a pre-published version of The Biblical Jubilee and the Struggle for Life, by Ross and Gloria Kinsler.  Then, we were just beginning to see how to read the bible economically.  Today, we see how its economics is directed toward the common good, not just stewardship lessons for our private money; toward community and peace, not empire and militarism; toward and abundant enough for all, not abundance for the privileged but scarcity for most, and extinction for many species.

Our practices emphasize households committed to practices for a sustainable future, community investing, Fair Trade, local and fair economies.  We also seek out intentional communities and congregations inviting jubilee to shape their institutional practices. 

We conduct conferences, accept invitations to teach classes, give workshops and retreat, and led annual eye-opening trips to Chiapas, MX, where 1st and 3rd world realities bump up against each other, often harshly.
